David Parrot is the new fire chief of the Marseilles Fire Department.
Parrott says although he has been a fire fighter for several years it wasn’t his first job.
He also says the Wallace Fire Department and Marseilles Fire Department are very similar when it comes to them both being volunteer driven.
Parrott says he started out in the emergency response team in the emergency side.
He says as chief he wants to work on getting young people into volunteering for the fire department because the interest hasn’t been the best recently.
Parrot took over for Mick Garrison who announced his retirement last month.
