Peru Public Services Manager Jeff King isn’t sure how it’s happening, but some diapers have clogged up part of the city’s sanitary sewer. It doesn’t seem possible to flush a diaper down a toilet. But King doesn’t know how else it happened on 26th St. between Rock and Plum streets yesterday. He told the City Council last night about the clog causing a sewer backup.
King says he’ll send fliers out to everyone in the neighborhood, asking them not to flush diapers.
