Jerry Janick is the new fire chief in LaSalle. He’s been with the fire department for 37 years, just like his predecessor, Andy Bacidore. Janick’s not expecting to be the chief for 24 years like Bacidore was. Janick praises Bacidore for starting a city ambulance service in LaSalle.
Bacidore is still working for the city. He’s the building inspector now. Bacidore got a thank you from the City Council this week. And he thanked a lot of people, mostly city council members and city employees, but some who are closer to him. He says his wife is especially deserving of thanks because of the stress his job comes with.
Bacidore was chief for 24 years of the 37 he was a fireman for LaSalle.
