1945 – 2021

Richard F. Clark, 75, of Ottawa, passed away on May 4, 2021 at OSF St. Anthony’s Medical Center in Rockford.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at the Mueller Funeral Home in Ottawa, with Rev. Duane Kaufman, officiating. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, at the funeral home. Due to current State of Illinois guidelines we kindly request that guests attending the service or visitation wear face coverings and maintain social distance.

Richard was born on July 22, 1945 in Ottawa to Richard I. and Darleen M. (Kinsch) Clark. He married Mary Kay Nelson on April 10, 1965 in Tonica. Richard retired from Caterpillar after over 30 years of employment. He enjoyed bow and gun hunting, fishing, camping, boating, collecting guns, and motorcycling across the country. He was a former member and officer of the Illini Archer, member of several radio control clubs, member and officer of Harley Owners Group, member, officer, and board member of Sandy Ford Sportsman’s Club, and member of Lazy Acres. Richard was very proud of the accomplishments his children did in their adult lives. He loved taking his granddaughter to Wisconsin and teaching her how to fish and he loved that his grandson took an interest in hunting and enjoying the great outdoors as he did.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Kay; children, Lisa A. (Brady) Hinkleman of Ottawa and Scott R Clark of Ottawa; two grandchildren, Ashlee M. (Jesse) King and Bryce M. Hinkleman; a great-granddaughter, Maisie Kay King; and sister, Judith A. (Kenneth) Carder of Kingston, PA.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Sandy Ford Sportsman’s Club.
