A new energy bill proposed by Gov. Pritzker gets some good marks from Republican St. Rep. David Welter.
Welter says Democrats and Republicans agree the state needs to switch to energy that doesn’t come from fossil fuel. But he says Republicans think Democrats want to rush things faster than development of other energy sources can keep up with. One bill would have all coal fired power plants shut down by 2030 and natural gas fired power plants by 2045.
