John R. Grieves, Jr., 62, of Ottawa passed away Friday, March 23, 2021 at his home.
Memorial services will be held at 4 pm on Saturday, May 1 at Ottawa Funeral Home, with Rev. William Clark officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 pm, prior to services, at the funeral home.
John was born December 23, 1958, in Ottawa to John and Marilyn (Jackson) Grieves, Sr. He married Cheryl Manning on February 22, 2006 in Ottawa. He worked at ADM Barge Co. as a 1st Mate.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl; his son, John Grieves, III; his daughter, Cathy Orndorff-Pattie; his step-children, Megan and Larry Burns; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Terry and Bob Grieves; his sister, Dawn Grieves-Sheets; his half-brother, Tony Grieves; his mother-in-law, Mary Malley; his brothers-in-law, Vince, Larry, and Keith Manning; and his close friends, Vern and Katie Heft.
John was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, David Grieves.
