Most local unemployment rates held nearly steady from February to March. The Illinois Department of Employment Security says the LaSalle County rate went from 7.4% to 7.3%. For Putnam County it was 6.5% in February and 6.2% in March. In Bureau County it was 6.3% in both months. Combining all three counties, the rate was 7.1% in February and 7.0% in March. There was a much bigger difference in Grundy County, where the rate was 8.4% and dropped to 6.6%.
