A new ordinance on electric bikes could be announced in Marseilles soon.
The ordinance was brought up at Thursday’s city council meeting.
Commissioner of Public Health and Safety Gary Lewey say the people who ride the bikes don’t care what they are doing.
Lewey says those riding the bikes are not following the rules of the road.
There isn’t a set price for how much the bikes will cost to be allowed on the streets.
The issue will be brought up again at the next city council meeting with more detail.
