A man arrested in connection with a high speed chase faces new charges for allegedly attacking people in the LaSalle County jail. Thirty-nine year old Brad M. Johnson was arrested a week-and-a-half ago.
The Sheriff’s Department says last Thursday, Johnson, still in jail, attacked a nurse with a shank he made from a piece of leg brace. Two corrections officers jumped into action immediately, getting cuts to their necks. The nurse wasn’t hurt.
Johnson’s new charges are aggravated battery and possession of contraband in a jail. Deputies say the chase that led to Johnson’s arrest on the 9th started after he showed a gun at a bar.
