There is still no decision on what’s left of the LaSalle County Republican Party’s court case over the November election results. The part of the complaint still standing is over Karen Donnelly losing the State’s Attorney’s race to Democrat Todd Martin. A judge dismissed the part over Travis Breeden losing to incumbent Democrat Lance Yednock in the Illinois House 76th race.
Grundy County Judge Scott Belt this morning scheduled an April 30th hearing. The Republican Party has filed a new version of its complaint—the fourth in which it claims County Clerk Lori Bongartz botched the vote count on election night. The party claims Bongartz broke the law by darkening ovals on mail-in ballots.
