If the Illinois Association of School Administrators has its way, students will be in school buildings full time next school year. President Vic Zimmerman says exceptions can still be made for students who face higher medical risks from exposure to the coronavirus.

Zimmerman says before the pandemic, some sick students stayed home and teachers went to them. He doesn’t think remote learning in a case like that is much different. But he says right now, parents can keep a student home for almost no reason and that should change.
