Fallen power lines and an outdoor fire on Ottawa’s south side were linked to a man trimming trees after sunset last night. The fire department says the man cut an electrical wire while trimming branches just before 7:30pm. The live wire sparked a fire on the power pole and in the grass below it. Fire fighters put out the flames and turned things over to Ameren Illinois for repairs.
