An Earlville area family is the LaSalle County Soil and Water Conservation District’s Farm Family of the Year. The district says Carl Zimmerman’s family was chosen because of his dedication to soil conservation, water quality, nutrient efficiency, and willingness to share his experiences with others. He’s been farming with his father, Larry, since 2015. Larry Zimmerman has been farming since 1966. They use no-till practices, cover crops, and split nitrogen applications.
