Democratic Quad Cities area Congresswoman Cheri Bustos says too many business owners don’t prepare for a certain part of their futures. She says when people retire or die, their businesses just close. Bustos thinks some tax incentives can help change that.
There would be tax breaks for coming up with a plan and for carrying it out. For some business owners, a son or daughter will take over. But for many, if there’s no one in the family ready and willing to do it, there must be a search for someone else who’s interested.
