For what’s being offered now, LaSalle County Director of Court Services Pat Sweeney says hardly anyone wants to be a part time probation officer. He asked the County Board Law and Justice Committee for permission to raise the pay.
The committee agrees to raise the pay from $12.50 to $15 per hour, contingent on the state grant that pays the wage now also covering the increase. The part time job is in the Adult Redeploy intense probation program. Sweeney says he’ll adjust the job so it also works with people going to drug court and mental health court.
