The Starved Rock Country Community Foundation has extended its scholarship deadline application to March 26. One scholarship is for $5,000 to students who live in LaSalle, Bureau, Putnam, and Livingston counties. It’s the Rising Star Scholarship for students going for degrees in elementary education at Illinois State University.
There will also be $7,500 from the Carol and Dick Janko Scholarship for Young Entrepreneurs. That’s $2,500 more than in previous years. As the name suggests, it’s for students going into entrepreneurship.
There’s a new Women Inspired Network Scholarship for young women in LaSalle, Bureau, and Putnam counties working on goals of leadership and higher education. And there are other scholarships that can be applied for as well at www.srccf.org.
