Tonight The Marquette Crusader travel to Kewanee to take on the Wethersfield Titans and The Streator Bulldogs hit the road to face Coal City.

On Saturday afternoon, The Ottawa Pirates head to Plano to battle the Reapers. The Morris Redskins travel to Rochelle to take on The Hubs and the Bruins of St Bede will host the Hall Red Devils.

College football this weekend 

ISU will host Western, SIU will face South Dakota State in Carbondale and on Sunday, Eastern will defend their home field against Tennessee Tech.

 

The White Sox had eleven hits in a 9-7 victory over the Royals at Camelback Ranch.  Outfielder Adam Engel had three hits, including a double and a home run for the Sox, who also got a homer from Andrew Vaughn. The Chicago Cubs rallied for three runs in the sixth inning for a 4-3 win over the Cleveland Indians at Goodyear Ballpark.  The Cubs offense was led by Jake  Marisnick, who homered and drove in three runs and David Bote, who also went deep for the Northsiders.  The Cubs will now head to Mesa to play Oakland today.  

 

Cardinals shortstop Paul DeJong had two hits and drilled his first homer of the spring in the Cardinals 7-5 win over the Marlins in Jupiter, Florida. Reliever Zack Thompson struck out two in the ninth to post his first save. The Cards travel to Port St. Lucie today to play the Mets.

 

The Chicago Bulls head to the mile-high city tonight for a game against the Denver Nuggets.  The Bulls are 18-and-21 on the season with three wins in their last six games.

 

The Chicago Blackhawks gave up two third-period goals on the way to a 4-2 loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning on the road. The Hawks and Lightning will play again on Saturday in Tampa. 

 

Over in the PGA, Matt Jones is on top of the leaderboard after the opening-round of The Honda Classic at Palm Beach Gardens in Florida.
