Arrangements are being made at a funeral home in Franklin, North Carolina for Art Havenhill. When he lived in Seneca in 2010, he founded a Tea Party group for LaSalle and Bureau counties. Eventually, his group was the Tea Party for LaSalle County. By 2018, membership and support waned. So Havenhill shut down the group. Then he moved out of state, as he’d been saying he would for a long time to get away from taxes and poorly run government.
Since he left, Dennis Corbin of Dayton restarted the Tea Party group. And Havenhill began fighting an illness. Corbin says the battle ended Thursday night and that people who want to honor Havenhill should make donations to the American Cancer Society or their favorite charities in Havenhill’s honor.
