The local Habitat for Humanity chapter is starting Habitat Re-store, where people can buy building materials and furniture. The store’s stock will come from store overstocks, slightly damaged goods, and donations from home rehabbers who take out items in good condition. Executive Director Sally Van Cura says nine people will be hired to work there, and the place will serve the community in other ways.

The fundraising kickoff for Re-store was at the Westclox building last night. Habitat wants $360,000 to start the 28-thousand square foot store at 1001 Shooting Park Rd. by late spring and has almost half of it pledged.’
