Peru Mayor Scott Harl hopes to have the Centennial Park band shell built by June fourth. That’s when this summer’s first concert is scheduled. Douglas and Rorie Schweickert donated $100,000 toward the work this week.
Harl says if the weather cooperates, construction can start in the spring. Concerts averaged 300 audience members last year.
