The LaSalle County Democratic Party will have a public discussion online with St. Rep. Lance Yednock on the controversial police reform bill sent to Gov. Pritzker. It’ll be this Wednesday at 5:30 via Zoom.

The bill would end cash bail for many crimes, require body cameras for police officers, and make other changes the proponents believe would make policing more fair. Opponents say it will cripple law enforcement. Yednock voted against the bill on January 13. LaSalle County Democratic Party Chair Dani Brzozowski says it does a lot of good, but that information hasn’t been communicated well amid misinformation.

People can register for the online discussion via the LaSalle County Democrats’ Facebook page or through Zoom.
