More people were looking for work in December than in November in this area. The Illinois Department of Employment Security says rates went up from 4.7% to 5.3% in Bureau County, 4.7% to 5.1% in Putnam County, and 5.8% to 6.3% in LaSalle County. Grundy County had the biggest jump in this area from 5.5% to 7.1%.
