Sen. Tammy Duckworth doesn’t think Facebook has done all it can to discourage violence such as what happened at the Capitol on January 6th. The Illinois Democrat is asking the company to stop allowing advertisements for semi-automatic weapons and body armor alongside news of the riot. She says Facebook is putting profits ahead of protecting the country’s democracy. And she says the company hasn’t reflected on its own power to incubate and spread extremism. Supporters of Pres. Trump have accused the company of censoring Trump because in the wake of the riot, he’s not allowed on the platform anymore.
