Denise J. Thompson, 63, of Milan, passed away Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Unity Point Trinity, Rock Island.
Private funeral services will be 12pm, Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Rafferty Funeral Home, 2111-1st St A, Moline where her live-streamed service can be viewed on Rafferty Funeral Home’s Facebook page. A public visitation will be 1-3pm Saturday at the funeral home. Masks and social distancing will be required. Burial will be at a later date. Denise will be buried next to her twin brother, Dennis at Oakwood Cemetery, Ottawa, IL. A memorial fund has been established.
Denise was born March 23, 1957 in Ottawa, IL, the daughter of Carl and Eloise (Collier) Whitney. She married Richard B. Thompson on February 16, 1979 in Davenport.
Denise graduated from Ottawa High School in 1975. She worked as a Human Resource Manager at Supply Chain 2, Milan.
Denise was a member of the Diehard Cub Fan Club. She was a selfless person who lived for her family and was a proud cancer survivor. Denise enjoyed shopping at Goodwill.
Survivors include her husband, Rick; son, Todd (Brandy) Thompson, Moline; grandchildren, Rylee and Cael; sister, Libby (Jeff) Koenke, Alpha, IL; brother, Marty Whitney, Dayton, IL and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Don, Gene, Dene and Dennis.
