Rita Hedrick, 87, of Ottawa, passed away Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Parker Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Streator.
Due to the current Covid-19 circumstances, private family services will be held. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery.
Rita was born May 13, 1933, in La Salle, IL, to Leo and Angela (O’Connor) Aubry. She married James “Jimmy” Hedrick on June 11, 1955 at St. Mary’s in Utica. He passed away on October 3, 2014.
Rita was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Utica, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, and the Elks Club. In her free time, she loved to sew and was known for her clothing and her embroidery.
She is survived by her daughters, Judy (Phil) Brandow and Jane (Ed) Skolek; her grandchildren, Jared Brandow, Carlie Brandow, Emily (Joe) Klumb, and Justin Skolek; and her great grandchildren, Delainey Brandow, Korben Niles, and Remington, Freya, and Abraham Klumb.
Rita was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 59 years, Jimmy; and her siblings, Lucille Harmon, Justin Aubry, and Shirley McDonnell.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution in Rita’s honor may be made to a charity of your choosing.
