Marseilles police officer honored for life saving CPR

Marseilles Police Officer James Buckingham was awarded at the City Council meeting last night for saving a man’s life. Chief Brian Faber says Buckingham did CPR on a man whose heart had stopped. And the emergency room doctor believes that’s why the man’s alive now.

Buckingham is the son of City Commissioner Jim Buckingham, who wasn’t at last night’s meeting. The commissioner says he’s still recovering from the coronavirus and it was hard not being there when his son got the award.
