Illinois Valley Community College could become part of a manufacturing academy. President Jerry Corcoran says two such academies are being offered by the state. IVCC and other community colleges are considering a consortium to become part of it. The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity is offering $15 million to make it happen. One of the colleges involved would get the academy’s main location and IVCC would be one of the satellite locations for it.
