Last Night the Rams dominated the Patriots 24-3 on Thursday Night Football. Cam Akers rushed for 171 yards as Los Angeles moved to 9-and-4 atop the NFC West.  Cam Newton threw for 119 yards and a pick before being benched as New England fell to 6-and-7.

                       

The Bears face the Texans at Soldier Field on Sunday.  Chicago is trying to end a six game losing streak.  The Bears fell to 5-and-7 after losing to the Lions this past Sunday.  Houston enters at 4-and-8.

Other games this weekend in The NFC North, The Packers meet the Lions in Motown. Green Bay leads the NFC North at 9-and-3 while the Lions are in the division basement at 5-and-7. Minnesota will visit the Buccaneers in Tampa Bay. The Vikings have won five of their last six games.

This weekend in College Football,

Illinois is at number-14 Northwestern on Saturday to wrap up the regular season.  The two teams are playing for the Land of Lincoln Trophy.  The 2-and-4 Illini fell to Iowa this past Saturday.  The Wildcats are 5-and-1.

Northern Illinois will travel to take on the Eastern Michigan Eagles. The Huskies lost their 5th consecutive game and dropped to 0-5 on the season after being defeated by the Toledo Rockets 41-24 this past Sunday.

The Pac-12 is cancelling tomorrow’s showdown between Washington and Oregon.  The move was made due to multiple positive tests for COVID-19 within the Huskies football program. Also Saturday’s game between Texas and Kansas is being canceled due to the pandemic.  The Longhorns have been dealing with an increase in positive cases, forcing them to pause all team activities. 

In College Basketball,      

Ninth-ranked Illinois is at Missouri Saturday for their annual Braggin’ Rights game.  The Illini are coming off an 83-68 victory over number-eleven Duke and improved to 4-and-1. Also on Saturday, The Redbirds are on the road when ISU­ faces Ball State in Muncie and Notre Dame battles The Kentucky WIldcats  in Lexington.

 NIU travels to the Carver Hawkeye Arena to take on third ranked Iowa on Sunday. The Huskies are 0-4.  Northwestern will host SIU-Edwardsville Cougars at the Welsh Ryan Arena also on Sunday. The Wildcats have a 2-1 record. 

The Duke men’s basketball team is canceling its remaining non-conference games. Duke says the move is out of an abundance of caution due to COVID-19 and will also allow players to spend time with their families during the holidays.  The Blue Devils are just 2-and-2 on the season.

 

The Bulls open the NBA preseason by hosting the Houston Rockets tonight and Sunday.

Michael Jordan’s Florida golf course The Grove XXIII features drones that drop off food and drinks to players while on the course, cutting out the need to have to stop in the clubhouse to grab a snack. Also the golf carts, reportedly, go up to 35 mph, and the caddies use scooters.
