A spread out Chris Kringle Market is underway in Ottawa this weekend and next. Organizer Stephanie Stacy says all the huts couldn’t be on Jackson St. this year. Otherwise, there could be a COVID-spreading crowd.

And there won’t be a warming tent, Christmas movies, art workshops, or a dance performance. All those would also draw crowds.

Stacy says a good thing about spreading the market out across several blocks from Washington Square to south of the Jordan block is people will pass through more of the downtown and possibly shop in stores too. Stacy talked about it Thursday on WCMY’s Morning Meeting.
