The Illinois House committee that’s supposed to be investigating the alleged attempt to influence House Speaker Michael Madigan hasn’t met in two months. Dixon Republican St. Rep. Tom Demmer is on that committee. He’s been saying it’s past time for the chairman to schedule meetings and call witnesses. Demmer wants to hear from Madigan himself.
The committee chairman has said he didn’t want the election to influence the committee’s work and he wants to be careful about having hearings during the pandemic.
