Michael Hermosillo thanks the Angels for seven good years and a lot of good friendships. But he’s leaving the Los Angeles team for the Chicago Cubs.
The Ottawa High School graduate has been with the Angels organization since 2013, mostly in the minor league, since going to pro baseball instead of college football. He had earned a scholarship to the University of Illinois when the Angels wanted him. He’ll be in the minors for the Cubs, to start.
Hermosillo was inducted into the Ottawa High School Hall of Fame earlier this year.
