St. Sen. Sue Rezin is calling for more hearings into what went wrong to cause the coronavirus outbreak at the veterans home in LaSalle. At least 106 residents and more than 96 staff members tested positive for the virus during the last month. Twenty-eight of the residents died.
Rezin says she has even more questions than before. A hearing last week revealed the Illinois Department of Public Health didn’t send anyone to the home for 12 days. And she blames the Pritzker administration for using a hand sanitizer that wasn’t effective against the virus.
And Cong. Adam Kinzinger says he’s still deeply concerned about the coronavirus outbreak at the veterans home in LaSalle. He says the people deserve action and answers. He asks why the Pritzker administration doesn’t have a team there now. Kinzinger says our most vulnerable population deserves better.
