Monday will be the last day at the Streator Salvation Army center to apply for the Christmas programs. Director Judy Booze says it’s for Streator residents. You must have a photo ID to apply. You must also show proof of income for the last 30 days and show proof of residence, such as with a utility bill.
The center is closed today through Sunday for the holiday. So there’s a one day time window in which to apply.
The Salvation Army runs the Angel Tree gift program for teens ages 13 to 17 and refers people to other programs in the area for younger children. There’s also a voucher program for senior citizens age 55 and up.
