St. Margaret’s Hospital and Illinois Valley Community Hospital are starting a slow integration process. The state is allowing a partnership in which they’ll become St. Margaret’s Health Spring Valley and St. Margaret’s Health Peru. St. Margaret’s Vice President for Quality and Community Services Linda Burt says when the affiliation starts on January 1, patients shouldn’t notice much different.
Eventually, some services that are being duplicated at both places could be cut back to just one. That’ll make room for expanding other services or bringing in new ones.
