48 residents and 12 employees have tested positive for COVID 19 at the Veterans’ Home in the city of La Salle according to a statement issued Friday.
The Veterans home at 1015 O’Conor Avenue has undergone intensified cleaning and disinfection.
The home will continue to conduct health screenings of all residents and staff, maintain social distancing and utilizing gloves and gowns.
All COVID 19 protocols there are and will be adhered to the letter.
Located in a residential area on the northeast side of LaSalle, the Veterans’ Home provides care for up to 184 Veterans, including 40 special needs veterans.
If you heard higher numbers, that is because the Department of Veteran affairs changed the numbers to 49 vets with COVID and 17 employees testing positive but then retracted those numbers shortly thereafter.
