The construction season for improvements on five locks and dams along the Illinois River is coming to an end. Those who ship grain on the river should be pleased that the barges can move more freely again. Jim Tarmann is the Managing Director of the Illinois Corn Growers Association. The work includes two local locks and dams–Marseilles and Starved Rock.
Work’s also being done on the Peoria, Dresden, and La Grange locks and dams.
