LaSalle County’s first coronavirus related death in two weeks was reported by the LaSalle County Health Department over the weekend. The person was a man in his 80s and he was the 58th to succumb to it. LaSalle County has had 1,997 cases with 1,409 recoveries.
The Illinois Department of Public Health reports a total of 321,892 cases so far as of Monday. Fatal cases statewide have added up to 8,997. The state says 4.3% of coronavirus tests done in the previous week had been positive. As of Sunday night, the state had 1,764 hospitalized COVID-19 cases with 377 in intensive care units and 153 on ventilators.
