Twenty-nine year old Leroy Persinger of Streator was in court today and heard the Grand Jury approved charges against him as well his trial dates.
Persinger and his female companion, Nancy Newell, were arrested after a ten hour police search in cornfields north of Streator last Monday.
Persinger appeared before two judges today. Shortly after 9am he appeared before Michael C. Janz who advised him the speeding ticket and improper use of a turning signal tickets were dismissed.
Persinger then appeared before Judge Cynthia M. Raccuglia about 11AM.
Persinger’s Jury Trial date is set for December 14th.
The five charges read to Persinger are theft, attempted burglary, two counts of burglary and stealing a car.
Persinger pled not guilty.
He is currently being held on $75,000 bond.
