Two companies have been chosen to install what the city of Ottawa needs for wireless internet in the downtown area. Mayor Dan Aussem wants to have it by December. It’s mainly for the merchants and festivals in the area.
The contracts add up to about $84,000. Aussem says the main purpose is to let merchants use it. But he would eventually like customers and other visitors to be able to use the wifi too.
