The state is closing in on 300,000 coronavirus cases. The Illinois Department of Public Health figures given Friday say there have been 297,646 cases including 2,206 added Friday. Fatal cases number 8,743 including 47 added Friday. Of those, one was a Bureau County man in his 70s.
The LaSalle County Health Department Friday reported 31 more cases for 1,806 so far and 40 recoveries for 1,266.
