Two contractors bid on the two house tear-downs next to Seneca High School, and each is getting work. The school board this week approved the low bid of about $25,000 from Stott Contracting of Morris to tear down one of the homes. Justin Quaka Trucking and Excavating of Ransom put in the low bid of a little less than $18,000 for the other.
The school district bought the houses for eventual expansion. Not wanting to be in the landlord business but not needing to build anything right away, the school board has decided those lots will stay empty for now.
