Unemployment continues dropping, according to Illinois Department of Employment Security figures announced Thursday.
LaSalle County’s August rate was 9.3%, down from 10.1% in July. Bureau County’s was 7.1%, down from 7.8%. Putnam County’s rate was 7.3%, down from 8.3%. Combining the three counties, the August rate was 8.7% after being at 9.5% in July.
Grundy County, in a different statistical area, dropped from 9.9% to 9.4%.
For all of these areas, the unemployment rates ranged from 4.1% to 4.8% in August 2019.
