He’s supposed to be an interim police chief, but the Oglesby police officers who work under Doug Hayse want him to stay permanently. They wrote a letter that City Commissioner Carrie Lijewski read to the city council this week.
The letter says Hayse recognizes when an officer does a good job and has started an award committee.
Hayse has also made good impressions on people for public relations. Two members of the public spoke well of him too during the public comment part of the meeting.
