The state’s fatal coronavirus case count went up by 30 Wednesday. The Illinois Department of Public Health reports a total of 8,214 so far. The Wednesday figures included a man in his 70s added to the LaSalle County Health Department’s figures on Tuesday. The state reported 1,337 new cases for 253,690 altogether.
LaSalle County added nine new cases to its figure for 1,424. The county health department reported 20 more recoveries for 858. Deaths from the virus among LaSalle County residents held at 54.
