The state of Illinois coronavirus case count has topped a quarter million. As of Monday, the Illinois Department of Public Health says 250,961 people in the state have tested positive for the virus. Most have recovered. There were eight deaths reported statewide Monday for 8,179.
The LaSalle County Health Department reported its 53rd fatality from the virus. A woman in her 80s is the latest. The county added 11 to its overall case count for 1,411 and 20 to the recovery count for 817.
