Dani Brzozowski says nuclear energy is clean energy and that should be reflected in national policy. The LaSalle Democrat running for Congress says some areas of national energy policy don’t even consider nuclear power and others don’t recognize it as a clean energy source. She says it’s an important job provider in the 16th Congressional District too.
Brzozowski disagrees with Republican Cong. Adam Kinzinger, who said last week that announced upcoming closures of two nuclear power plants are Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan’s fault. Exelon Generation says it’s not profitable anymore to run the Dresden plant near Morris and the Byron plant near Rockford.
