In a normal year, hot weather would have meant an early let-out for Ottawa Elementary students. But since they’re already getting out early because of a pandemic-related schedule adjustment, the district has cancelled classes for Wednesday and Thursday. That includes remote learning, because the district isn’t ready for all kids to learn that way.
In-person learning will resume on Friday, weather permitting.
The school board looked into the cost of installing air conditioning in the K-through-four buildings so it’s more comfortable to wear masks inside, but it isn’t doing that yet.
