A public hearing is planned for September 10 on Illinois Valley Community College’s budget for the upcoming fiscal year. After that, the Board of Trustees will vote on it.
The budget looks ahead to $32.1 million in revenue and $32.5 million in expenses. It includes a $600,000 contingency amount to cover revenue shortfalls that may or may not happen. The Board is thinking about falling enrollment which means less tuition revenue, and also about less state support.
Both are possibilities because of the pandemic. The Board is also thinking there’ll be less state support if voters don’t approve a state income tax amendment on the ballot.
