One additional COVID-19 related death was reported by the LaSalle County Health Department Friday. The individual listed was a woman in her nineties. Twenty-nine people have died from the virus county-wide.

The county also added 32 new cases to its count, surpassing 900 total cases so far. The county previously surpassed 800 cases earlier this week. Eighty-eight recoveries were recorded for a total of 424. The recovery rate has gone up to 46.5 percent.

The county was also moved back to orange level in terms of risk metrics due to an increase of cases this months.

The State of Illinois announced the highest single-day increase in cases since May, adding 2,264 cases and 25 new deaths. One of the deaths the state recorded was in Bureau County. The person listed was a woman in her eighties. State totals are at 202,691 cases and 7,721 deaths.

A total of 1,612 people are currently hospitalized for the virus in Illinois. 345 are in the ICU and 126 patients are currently on ventilators.
