Ameren estimates it will take until midnight tomorrow night to restore power to everyone in the LaSalle County area. About 28% of its customers in LaSalle County, 25% in Bureau, and 30% in Putnam County have no electricity this morning.

ComEd is now estimating it will need until Saturday to restore electric service to the places it serves in this area. About 27% of the company’s customers in and near LaSalle County don’t have service.

Corn Belt Energy reports less than 1% of its LaSalle County customers are without power this morning.

Oglesby Utilities Commissioner Jason Curran believes 95% of the city’s residents have power again as of last night. Restoration work continues with about 90 homes still out. Curran asks everyone still upset because their power is off to remember he can’t send the power crews everywhere at once.

In some cases, people will have to hire electricians to have power restored. If there’s damage where the service line enters a home of business, it may be the owner’s responsibility to have it repaired.

OSF Healthcare on Ottawa’s south side will remain closed until power is restored. People will be contacted about appointments with the doctors there.

Telephones aren’t working at Illinois Valley Community Hospital’s Hygienic Institute, the Center for Rehabilitation and Aquatics, and Urgent Care. But those locations are open for their normal hours.

Illinois Valley Community College is closed again today.
